Terms of Service

1. Parties and Acceptance

These Terms of Service (the "Agreement") are between Onur Meşta, the operator of the Rivayet app (the "Service", "Rivayet", "we", "us"), and you, the user (the "User", "you").

By downloading, signing in to, or using the app, you accept this Agreement. If you do not agree, you must not use the Service.

2. The Service

Rivayet is a collective AI storytelling app set across parallel worlds. For each scene, AI generates 5 options; users vote for free, and any user may "lock" a choice via in-app purchase to set the canonical direction.

The Service relies on AI generation. Content is fictional and does not depict real persons or events.

3. Account

  • An Apple ID with Sign in with Apple is required; no other auth method is offered.
  • Your account is personal and non-transferable.
  • You must be 13 or older to create an account.
  • You are responsible for all activity on your account.
  • You can delete your account from inside the app at any time (Profile → Settings → Delete account).

4. Acceptable Use

The following are prohibited and may result in suspension or permanent deletion of your account:

  • Attempting to produce content that uses copyrighted characters, trademarks, real persons' names, or similar protected material.
  • Voting / locking / contributing in a way that promotes hate speech, racism, discrimination, child exploitation, suicide, sexual content, or terror propaganda.
  • Bypassing the moderation layer (prompt injection, jailbreak attempts).
  • Automated manipulation of votes / locks / accounts.
  • Reverse engineering, denial-of-service, or other interference with the Service infrastructure.
  • Any use that violates applicable laws.

Where prohibited content is detected, the related vote/lock is reversed and refunded; repeated violations result in permanent deletion of the account.

5. User Content and Votes

Rivayet does not accept free-form text submissions; user interaction is limited to voting on AI-generated options and locking a choice. Therefore "user content" is interpreted narrowly:

  • Auto-generated username (e.g., user_a1b2c3),
  • Voting and locking activity.

Intellectual property in user activity remains with us. We may publish anonymized aggregate statistics (e.g., the most-voted option in a panel).

6. Paid Services

6.1 Lock-In

  • Product: rivayet_lock_in (consumable in-app purchase)
  • Price: $0.99 (localized by Apple)
  • Mechanics: The first successful lock on a scene wins; all other attempts are auto-refunded. The winner's username appears in that scene's archive.
  • The purchase does not involve randomness or chance; the winner is determined deterministically by FIFO order.

6.2 Rivayet Premium (Subscription)

  • Product: rivayet_premium_monthly (auto-renewable subscription)
  • Price: $4.99/mo (localized by Apple)
  • Benefits: access to Vakanivus, a members-only story, and video-supported premium episodes as they become available.
  • Renewal: Subscription renews automatically unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. Renewal is charged to your Apple ID account.
  • Cancellation: Cancel any time via iOS Settings → Apple ID → Subscriptions. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current period; benefits remain until that date.

6.3 Refunds

  • Refund requests for App Store purchases are handled by Apple at reportaproblem.apple.com.
  • Server-side automatic refunds (lock attempts that lost FIFO) are processed by Apple — no extra action required.
  • Under Turkish Distance Sales Regulations, the right of withdrawal for digital content ends once performance begins; locking a choice is treated as fully performed when the choice is written to canon, ending the right of withdrawal. We display this notice before the purchase.

7. Intellectual Property

  • The Rivayet brand, logo, story worlds (Kara Çağrı, Son Koloni, Rüya Bahçesi, Vakanivus), character designs, visual style, and canon content are owned by us.
  • AI-generated panel images and text are also owned by us.
  • Locking a choice does not grant you any copyright or license.
  • Personal, non-commercial screenshots and social media sharing are permitted; the "Rivayet" mark and story name must remain visible.
  • Commercial use requires written permission (onurmesta@gmail.com).

8. Changes to and Termination of the Service

  • We reserve the right to change the Service, story worlds, prices, or features upon reasonable notice.
  • If we discontinue the Service entirely, we will give at least 30 days' notice; for active subscriptions, the unused portion is refunded.
  • We may suspend or permanently delete accounts that violate this Agreement. Unwon lock fees are refunded in such cases; won decisions remain in the archive in anonymized form.

9. Disclaimer

The Service is provided "as is". We make no warranties as to the accuracy, currency, fitness for a particular purpose, uninterrupted operation, or error-free nature of AI-generated content. We are not liable for temporary unavailability of the Service.

10. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, we are not liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising out of your use of the Service. Our total liability is limited to the total fees we collected from you in the 12 months preceding the claim.

This limitation may not apply to your statutory consumer rights under Turkish law where you act as a consumer.

11. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold us and our affiliates harmless against third-party claims arising from your breach of this Agreement or applicable law.

12. Governing Law and Jurisdiction

  • This Agreement is governed by the laws of the Republic of Türkiye.
  • For consumer disputes, the Turkish Consumer Arbitration Committees and Consumer Courts have jurisdiction.
  • For all other disputes, the Istanbul (Çağlayan) Courts and Execution Offices have exclusive jurisdiction.

13. General Provisions

  • Entire Agreement. This Agreement, together with the Privacy Policy, constitutes the entire agreement between the parties.
  • Severability. If any provision is held invalid, the remaining provisions remain in effect.
  • No Waiver. Failure to enforce a right does not waive it.
  • Assignment. We may assign the Service to an affiliate or successor on reasonable notice.
  • Notices. Notices are given by email to onurmesta@gmail.com and/or in-app notification.
